It\u2019s not particularly demanding, since it\u2019s a ten-day commitment that involves working in a very attractive setting, gaining experience that\u2014even if brief\u2014looks great on a resume. As for the pay for 10 days, considering a newly hired young person working about 40 hours a week, it\u2019s around 700 euros.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\nThis does not mean, however, that those who start out at the Film Festival cannot later turn that experience into something more permanent. Consequently, this is an experience that is significantly renewed each year. About 60% of the young people are new to each edition. The turnover is therefore very high, precisely because most of them are young people who choose the Film Festival as a summer job. \u201cIt\u2019s a combination of factors: it\u2019s a special experience compared to typical seasonal jobs. It\u2019s not particularly demanding, since it\u2019s a ten-day commitment that involves working in a very attractive setting, gaining experience that\u2014even if brief\u2014looks great on a resume. As for the pay for 10 days, considering a newly hired young person working about 40 hours a week, it\u2019s around 700 euros.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This does not mean, however, that those who start out at the Film Festival cannot later turn that experience into something more permanent. Rizzi, after all, has been personally familiar with the system long before he became president of CoopCulture. \u201cMy first job, as recorded in my old employment record book, was with the Venice Film Festival in 1980, back when the Biennale hired people directly: I wasn\u2019t even twenty years old.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A generational continuity that is now being renewed through the thousands of young people who have passed through the Film Festival over the decades. This phenomenon reveals a less visible aspect of the film festival: alongside the international stars, directors, and filmgoers from all over the world, a large team of young Venetians\u2014and others\u2014also springs into action for ten days, keeping the Festival running smoothly behind the scenes. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
